Prof. Dr. ZHU Weidong
Prof.Dr ZHU Weidong got his LLM and Ph.D degree from Xiangtan University and Wuhan University in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He did his post-dotoral research at the Law Faculty, Cambridge University from June 2008 to May 2009, and he stayed as a visiting scholar at Law Faculty, Seoul National University from September 2011 to August 2012. Since 2002 he worked successively in Xiangtan University and Ocean University of China as lecturer, associate professor and professor, chronologically, until October 2015 when he began to work in the Institute of West Asian and African Studies, CASS. His research mainly covers the laws in Africa, especially those legal issues relating to China-Africa business transactions, private international law, international commercial arbitration, cross-border dispute resolution. He has published extensively in these areas in some leading international peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of African Law, Penant, Journal of Private International Law, Yearbook of Private International Law, Journal of International Arbitration, Tydskrif Vir Die Suid-Afrikaanse Reg, Asian International Arbitration Journal, Asian Business Lawyer, Indian Journal of Geo-Marine Sciences, China and WTO Review,etc. He was also invited as evaluator of National Research Foundation of South Africa and external reviewer of LLM thesis from University of Cape Town.
