A delegation of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited China-Africa institute (CAI) on April 7, 2026, and had an exchange with CAI scholars on humanitarian needs in Africa and opportunities for cooperation.

The delegation members included Patrick Youssef, Regional Director for Africa of ICRC; Balthasar Staehelin, Head of ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia; Fiona Antonnette Barnaby, Head of the Humanitarian Affairs and Policy Unit, ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia, and Qiu Xiai, Humanitarian Affairs Advisor, ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia.
